Smores and More

Dallins first Smore. I was hoping he would go into "Sandlot" dialogue with me here I guess he is still a little young.
Turns out that Dallin likes the marshmallows raw better than cooked.
Master mallow cooker Julie, cooks a marshmallow to perfection.
Dallin first wanted dad to put the fire out.
Dallin informing us that the fire was hot and that we should be careful.

Dr. Dallin

Dallin has always had a fascination with stethoscopes and other medical supplies, so he is loving the new toys.
Since Preston is his best friend and a slow moving target he is a good patient for Dallin.
Dallin calls the stethoscope a "beat beat" much cuter than the real name, and we have no idea how he came up with that name since we have never talked about this.

A day at the Denver Zoo

Everybody but Preston, I'm not exactly sure how this happened. Plus the worlds only carnivorous giraffe, it is eating Amy's head.
We haven't learned that it is bad to stick our heads into the wild animal cage yet.
Dallin is about the coolest person I know.
To tired even for an elephant.
Amy and a Lion.
Preston enjoying the zoo.
A lion doing what an elephant couldn't do, helping Dallin find his second wind.
It was the coolest thing this lion just walked on over to Dallin and sat down. Thank you safety glass.

Dallin + Animals

Dallin loved the trampoline and apparently so did the dog.
It took Dallin no time at all to figure out what the dog wanted.
Wrestling for the ball, no dogs were hurt in the production of this picture.
Learning where eggs for eating come from.
Dallin has great great uncles, Kelly spent the whole night helping Dallin with the animals.
He also has amazing cousins.
Dallin loved the Mule but he is still a little to young for his own.
Julie doing what she does best.

Blessing day for Preston.

My family is amazing!
Could I have married a prettier girl, you can see where the boys get their eyes from.
So handsome!
Ready to roll.

That is one big family, where are the Rusts?

Cabin 2009

She looks deadly, the winner of our throwing knife competition.
Can you imagine a happier grandpa!!
Kelsey doesn't need a knife to be scary!
He has a future as a smoke jumper.
Not scary even with a knife, she was not the winner.
Kelsey was great at helping Dallin remove bugs from his teeth.

Captain Julie, that is what she makes me call her.
The boy loves PPE (personal protective equipment).

Prestons first cabin trip

As you can tell from this picture everyone eats well at the cabin.
Preston got a lot of these over the week, and in first place for most kisses given was Melissa.
Grandmas love their little Grandsons.
The only way to keep track of dad at the cabin, give him a baby to watch.
Preston eagerly awaiting his turn in the knife throwing world championship!!!

Dallins first fish!!!!!

Dallin caught his very first fish our first night at the cabin, casting was not his strength but he really liked reeling it in. He got so excited every time we caught one he would do a little dance in the boat. I know it is hard to believe with the scared look on his face but I have a witness.

Colorado Backpacking

In August dad Farmer and I hiked up to the Tennessee lakes by Leadville, Colorado. This a picture from day one on the way down from the upper lake. This photo was taken on day two, we went exploring and found a cool mine full of water and a really difficult route to the upper lake. This was taken right by the divide at a little over 12,ooo feet.
The fishing was great dad caught over 30 fish our first day, this a picture of me landing a monster.
We found two very nice folks on our way up that offered to take our picture.
