Christmas #2 w/ the Farmers: The Nativity, Farmer Style

This is one of my favorite traditions. At the Farmer home on Christmas Eve, the kids act out the nativity while Dad reads out of Luke. This year Dallin was an Army shepherd (read Ammon). Amy was a black sheep.
2 of the three wise women with a coon hat sheep.
Of course Melissa the angel.
This was a very funny story to me at least. Beth started this years nativity as Mary, Lincoln was asleep in his trailer unavailable to participate. Julie was upstairs working with Preston on bed time.
Then Lincoln decided he also did not want to be alone anymore so he made a ruckus over the monitor until Beth went upstairs to be with him. So I filled in much to moms chagrin.
That did not last long though and I was ousted by Natalie, who did a great job.
Well, that is until Julie showed up and took her place as Mary. So if you are counting, we went through four different Marys this Christmas Eve.
To make things even better Preston's agent worked out a last minute deal and he played baby Jesus. He was a sturdy baby Jesus.

The happy cast minus Mary 1 (Beth).

Christmas #2 w/ the Farmers: The Party

So last year Dallin was a little had some trepidation about Santa and it did not go so well, but this year he realized how important it was to be on his good side and things changed.
It's hard to have a bad Christmas when you have these two.
Preston and I thought that considering his stature our time would be well spent watching football to teach him some skills. As for the girls I think they just wanted to be in the picture.

Christmas #2 w/ the Farmers: The Root Canal

The night before we left for Denver Julie bit into some Christmas candy and experienced some severe pain, so much so that we almost left for Denver that night as opposed to the next morning. Fortunately for Julie, Dale was able to work his magic and make the pain go away.
The aftermath of Julie's root canal (Julie was afraid that you may think she still looks like this, if you aren't very smart then you should know this is a result of the medication and she is no longer horribly disfigured like the Phantom. Ha,ha,ha this is Nick speaking, seriously though she made me say that.), a Christmas Miracle, thanks Dad.
Amy you are next!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas #1 (w/ the Rust Family)

Dallin wanted to open this present for a month so he was a little excited. We made him wait until the end because he wouldn't have opened any other presents.
See What I mean.
There is nothing more fun and rewarding than putting together your children's toys Christmas morning, Dallin was nice enough to help out with his jig saw and proper personal protective equipment (thanks OSHA).
Dallin was more than happy to help out "baby" with his presents.
When you become a parent you only get one picture on Christmas morning and this is Julie's, making that coat look good.
That is right this is all I wanted for Christmas, a flashlight!!!!
Cassandra and I were so tired of that robe that we both unknowingly bought him a new robe that was the exact same from JcPenney's.
"Yeah Yeah" Rust loves her Coke.

Americas's Greatest Hope

For Christmas Dallin got this Nerf machine gun and he loves to set it up with the help of a parent, so that he can ambush an unsuspecting parent, grandparent, or aunt.
It needs to be said that I am not a huge fan of camo but Dallin idealizes "Army Guys" so much so that he includes them in every prayer we say, so my protests are in vain. He enlists the help of Preston as ammo barer in his fight against grown ups.
He started wearing the ear muffs a long time ago, he doesn't need to be shooting a "boom boom" either to justify this fashion statement.
If the bullets don't kill you their good looks will.
