Things We Do to Stop the Madness

Look at that smile would you believe that just moments before he was throwing the fit of a lifetime, Dallin and I do this often now and Preston always watches so longingly when we do. So I thought why not try it and it worked, thank you brain.
Yes the harness does fit sort of, at least he can't fall out he just has to bend his neck to an unnatural position.

Safely on the ground, there will be a repeat soon.

I Want Shoes and Bags

So Dale (Julies father) is friends with a man in their stake who has as a hobby hunting, and his favorite hunt is the African Safari. So much so that he has been on I think 8 or so, however many it is he has essentially built a second home to mount and display all of his animals. So one of our favorite activities when we now visit Denver (sorry Troy we had every intention of visiting you but our plans were derailed by much needed home repairs and sick kids) is to go see the new animals. This is Dallin in front a lion that is just about to tenderize a hyena for dinner, it was Dallin's favorite mount out of all of them.
Preston doesn't really care about these animals since none of them are dogs.
Amy needed to hold Preston so we got an Eland with the two of them. So the gentleman who hosts us has essentially every animal you would want to hunt displayed in this museum of his (imagine your own private Cabelas) except for an alligator. He said that while in Africa on their last Safari his wife harvested a good sized Crocodile and he was very much looking forward to the mount as a display. Well when the taxidermist called and asked how she wanted it mounted he asked his wife and she responded I want shoes and bags, he still hasn't gotten over that.

Bob We Need You!

As a result of being loved by their grandparents our children ran out of space for their toys so we had to get a little creative and daring. So we tore out the drywall under the stairs in the basement.
The project was not fun or easy due to me being large and the space being small, not to mention the fact that Dallin and I are about equal when it comes to tapeing and mudding abilities.
The good news was that Dallin had all of the necessary safety equipment and he also fit better than me and was able to hang and sand all the dry wall for me.

Happy First Birthday Preston

Happy 1st Birthday Preston.
Isn't that how your suppose to eat the ice cream, Preston is definitely more of an ice cream guy than cake. We couldn't get him to touch his cupcakes.
Julie is amazing, I remember years ago going to celebrate either Meriam or Emilys birthday (Julies much younger cousins) and seeing the cake that Kristy had made for the event. It was amazing I can't remember what it was but I can remember being wowed by the cake. I also remember thinking Julie could never pull this off, well shame on me because Julie has done it. I would have to say that this years barn cake with cupcake animals was Ace of Cakes worthy and the best ever.
This is what I made for Prestons birthday, a sand box he loves it.
If you didn't believe the sentence up above here is more evidence supporting my claim.
We like to open presents with as little on as possible especially in June to keep from over heating. Heat stroke is no ones friend.
Sometimes we even need to call in backup.
See Dallin is taking care of Prestons light work while he bulks up on some baby protein to build up strength to fight off cute aggressive 1 year old girls in the ward. The protein is new from Similac, look for it in stores, Baby Bulk Milk.
Finally what would a party be without some karaoke, I would like to mention that there was no peanut butter used or consumed during the concert.

Now Accepting Offers

It is never to early to arrange a marriage so Julie and I are now open to offers for the second child. Seriously how could you not want your grandchildren to look this cute.
