About 5 years ago our good friends the Thralls moved away from our Country Woods neighborhood to Ogden and then eventually to Dallas. We have dearly missed their sarcasm and dry whit along with an amazing desire to win at all games. So we were very excited when the opportunity to meet up with them was presented, even if it was in southern Utah. This is a picture from our epic hike of the kids enjoying juice boxes.
I love people and I love to meet new interesting people because well often they make me feel better about myself. While hiking we met two (from their camouflage attire I can only assume they were Navy Seals :)) men whom we asked about the trail. Those two kind men told us that the trail got extremely steep and difficult ahead so much so that they had to turn around just ahead. These are our sons running up the trail that these elite warriors were unable to conquer.
We were denied the summit on our hike though due to mutiny on the part of our crew. It was nice of Derek to sport his corporate sponsors logo on his shirt the whole way up, you can't buy better advertising.
It turns out that our boys are very into silly faces and I like it.
The riding was so intense that Preston needed a bib, at least this time their were no crashes or injuries, right Derek.
Every boy needs a good stick to carry with him and then trip on several times while walking along. I think Preston may have submitted one of the Navy Seals and then made him give Preston the very shorts he was wearing.
Julie and Michelle thought it would be a good idea to dress Dallin and Oliver up in very similar clothing, they were wrong it was just very confusing. Never the less, the boys really enjoyed their Smores and spears.
Preston's natural habitat. This has become a challenge for us in that any water Preston sees he must enter. Also we are now working on "Blue Steel".
If you have ever been to Pine Valley, Utah, you will understand why we felt it okay to just let the boys ride in the back of the truck every where we went. The downside is that it took a lot of talking to get Dallin back into his car seat for the return home.
I dare you to get in between Preston and the water.
The only picture of Mrs. Thrall.
Thank you so much Thralls we do miss your family and we had so much fun being with you guys. Dallin loved Oliver so much that he now laughs exactly like Oliver and we had a couple of days of eliminating the over use of "Butt". For me the neat thing was the proof that genetics can do anything, if you don't believe me look at Derek and then me and then ask yourself could those four kids be confused for brothers and sister?
